Vinton is the only child of a locally popular bandleader, Stan Vinton. At 16, Vinton formed his first band, which played clubs around the Pittsburgh area. With the money he earned, he helped finance his college education at Duquesne University, where he studied music and graduated with a degree in musical composition. While at Duquesne, he became proficient on all of the instruments in the band: piano, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, drums and oboe. Vinton's birthplace of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania is also the birthplace of Perry Como. His hometown named two streets, Bobby Vinton Boulevard and the shorter adjoining Bobby Vinton Drive, in his honor. Canonsburg town fathers had plans to erect a statue in his honor, but Vinton vetoed the idea noting that the $100,000 planned cost could go to far more important town needs. Vinton was Bobby Vinton's nineteenth studio album, released in 1969. Three singles came from the album: "To Know You Is to Love You", "The Days of Sand and Shovels" and "No Arms Can Ever Hold You". Cover versions include Herb Alpert's hit "This Guy's in Love with You", "When I Fall in Love", Tammy Wynette's hit "Stand by Your Man", "It's a Sin to Tell a Lie", "Try a Little Tenderness" and the McGuire Sisters' hit "May You Always".

The Texas International Pop Festival was a music festival held at Lewisville, Texas, on Labor Day weekend, August 30-September 1, 1969. It occurred two weeks after Woodstock. The site for the event was the newly-opened Dallas International Motor Speedway, located on the east side of Interstate Highway 35E, across from the Round Grove Road intersection. The festival was the brainchild of Angus G. Wynne III, son of Angus G. Wynne, the founder of the Six Flags Over Texas Amusement Park. Wynne was a concert promoter who had attended the Atlanta International Pop Festival on the July Fourth weekend. He decided to put a festival on near Dallas, and joined with the Atlanta festival's main organizer, Alex Cooley, forming the company Interpop Superfest. Artists performing at the festival were: Led Zeppelin, B.B. King, Canned Heat, Chicago (then called Chicago Transit Authority), Delaney and Bonnie and Friends, Freddie King, Grand Funk Railroad, Herbie Mann, Incredible String Band, James Cotton, Janis Joplin, Johnny Winter, Nazz, Rotary Connection, Sam and Dave, Santana, Shiva's Headband, Sly and the Family Stone, Space Opera, Spirit, Sweetwater, Ten Years After and Tony Joe White. Attendance at the festival remains unknown, but is estimated between 120,000 and 150,000. As with Woodstock, there were no violent crimes reported. There was one death, due to heatstroke, and one birth.

Procol Harum are a British rock  band, formed in the 1960s, who contributed to the development of progressive rock, and by extension, symphonic rock. Their best-known recording is their 1967 single "A Whiter Shade of Pale." Although noted for its baroque and classical influence, Procol Harum's music also embraces the blues and soul. Still alive today, five orchestral concerts have been announced in Denmark in January 2011.
Procol Harum is the self-titled first album Procol Harum, released in June 1967. The original Deram release of the LP included a large poster of the album cover artwork by Dickinson. Though the album was recorded on multi-track, it was issued in mono-only in the UK, and in mono and rechanneled stereo in the US. Despite extensive searching, the original multi-track tapes have not been located and thus a stereo mix of the original 10 tracks may never be possible. Several alternate takes, however, have been mixed into stereo and are available on CD.

T2 were a British progressive rock band, best known for their 1970 album It'll All Work Out in Boomland. It is regarded as an excellent album by the progressive rock community.T2 evolved from an earlier band called Neon Pearl which had been led by drummer Pete Dunton. Dunton was by 1968 a member of Please, which also included fellow Neon Pearl member Bernard Jinks. When that band broke up in 1969, due to Dunton's joining Gun alongside Adrian Gurvitz, Jinks became a member of Bulldog Breed. T2 then formed when Dunton reunited with bassist Jinks and late period Bulldog Breed guitarist Keith Cross. The trio played a form of psychedelic or proto-prog rock which was similar in content to that played by the earlier bands its members had been in but placed far greater emphasis on the incendiary guitar playing of the teenage Keith Cross, giving them some similarity in sound to power trios such as Cream. It'll All Work Out in Boomland have only four long tracks.

Skid Row was a Dublin blues-rock band of the late 1960s and early 1970s fronted by Brendan "Brush" Shiels. It was guitarist Gary Moore's first professional band. The band was formed in 1967, comprising Brendan 'Brush' Shiels on bass guitar, Noel 'Nollaig' Bridgeman on drums, Bernard 'Bernie' Cheevers on lead guitar, and Phil Lynott on vocals for a short period . Cheevers was replaced by the 16-year-old Gary Moore in 1969. Later that year Shiels dropped Lynott from the line-up, converting Skid Row to a power trio by making Sheils the lead vocalist. 34 Hours is a 1971 album. It was the band's second album, and takes its title from the fact that it was recorded in 34 hours.

The Beatles - 1963 - Please, Please Me

Please Please Me is the debut album by The Beatles. Parlophone  rush-released the album on 22 March 1963 in the United Kingdom to capitalise on the success of singles "Please Please Me" (number one on most lists but only number two on Record Retailer) and "Love Me Do" (number 17). Of the album's fourteen songs, eight were written by Lennon/McCartney, early evidence of what Rolling Stone later called "[their invention of] the idea of the self-contained rock band, writing their own hits and playing their own instruments."
