The Great Society were a 1960s San Francisco rock band that existed between 1965 and 1966 and were closely associated with the burgeoning Bay Area acid rock scene. Best known as the original group of model turned singer, Grace Slick, the initial line-up of the band also featured her then-husband Jerry Slick on drums, his brother Darby Slick on guitar, David Miner on vocals and guitar, Bard DuPont on bass, and Peter Vandergelder on saxophone. After Grace had found fame with Jefferson Airplane, Columbia Records released tapes of live performances by The Great Society in 1968, on the albums Conspicuous Only in its Absence and How It Was. These two albums were later repackaged as a double LP named Collector's Item in 1971. 01 - Sally Go Round The Roses 02 - Didn't Think So 03 - Grimly Forming 04 - Somebody To Love 05 - Father Bruce 06 - Outlaw Blues 07 - Often As I May 08 - Arbitration 09 - White Rabbit 10 - That's How It Is 11 - Darkly Smiling 12 - Nature Boy 13 - You Can't Cry 14 - Daydream Nightmare 15 - Everybody Knows 16 - Born To Be Burned 17 - Father LINK
The Electric Prunes are an American rock band who first achieved international attention as an experimental psychedelic group in the late 1960s. Their song Kyrie Eleison featured on the soundtrack of Easy Rider. After a period in which they had little control over their music, they disappeared for thirty years, reforming as a recording and touring band in 2001. Just Good Old Rock and Roll is a record album attributed to the The Electric Prunes. It was recorded with a lineup put together by Wilson-Fisher management for David Hassinger, who owned the name, during a period in which the original group was disbanded. The album cover described the band as the new improved Electric Prunes. However former band members would subsequently reform the group, while none of the performers on this album appeared on any other Electric Prunes recordings. This lineup toured for a short time before in turn disbanding, and released one single. 01 - Sell 02 - 14 Year Old Funk 03 - Love Grows 04 - So Many People To Tell 05 - Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers 06 - Giant Sunhorse 07 - Violent Rose 08 - Thorjon 09 - Silver Passion Mine 10 - Tracks 11 - Sing To Me 12 - Hey Mr. President 13 - Flowing Smoothly LINK
Psychedelic rock unit the Apple Pie Motherhood Band formed in Boston in 1964--evolving out of garage outfit C.C. and the Chasers, the group originally teamed guitarists Ted Demos and Joe Castagno, bassist Richard Barnaby, keyboardist Jef Labes and drummer Jack Bruno, all of whom split vocal duties. In 1965 they relocated to New York City, briefly adopting the name Sacred Mushroom and settling in as the house band at the Bitter End Café, backing acts ranging from Joni Mitchell to Neil Diamond to Kenny Rogers & the First Edition. With a deal with Atlantic pending, the Sacred Mushroom moniker was deemed too drug-oriented. A sarcastic Demos comment resulted in the name Apple Pie Motherhood Band, and their self-titled debut LP followed in 1968, preceded by the single "Long Live Apple Pie." The group relocated to Vermont to record the follow-up, adding lead vocalist Bruce Paine, guitarist Michael Sofraine and harmonica player Adam Myers for Apple Pie. Opening dates for the Jefferson Airplane, the Butterfield Blues Band and the Chambers Brothers followed, but in 1970 the Apple Pie Motherhood Band split. Labes later backed Van Morrison and Bonnie Raitt, while Bruno spent close to two decades as Tina Turner's touring drummer; Paine briefly led Steamhammer but was better known for his acting work. The Fraternity of Man is an American blues rock and psychedelic rock group from the 1960s. They are most famous for their 1968 song "Don't Bogart Me" which was featured in the 1969 road movie Easy Rider. Its original members included three members from the Lowell George-led group "The Factory" – Richie Hayward of Little Feat, Warren Klein and Martin Kibbee, who joined Elliot Ingber from The Mothers of Invention and Larry Wagner. Blues leads were handled by Elliot Ingber, and psychedelic leads were played by Warren Klein including "Oh No I Don't Believe It" (widely attributed to Elliot due to his association with the Mothers). The band broke up after recording two albums. Get It On is the second album. 01 - Boo Man 02 - Don't Start Me Talkin' 03 - Pool Of Tears 04 - The Throbber 05 - Cat's Squirrel 06 - Too High Too Eat 07 - Forget Her 08 - Coco Lollipop 09 - Trick Bag 10 - Mellow Token LINK
Johnny Rivers (John Henry Ramistella) is an American rock and roll singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. His styles include folk songs, blues, and revivals of old-time rock 'n' roll songs and some original material. Ramistella formed his own band, The Spades, in junior high school and made his first record at age 14, while still a student at Baton Rouge High School. Some of their music was recorded on the Suede label as early as 1956. Rivers's greatest success came in the mid and late 1960s with a string of hit songs (including "Seventh Son", "Poor Side of Town", "Summer Rain", and "Secret Agent Man"), but he has continued to record and perform to the present. This is a compilation, maybe italian, from the 90's.

The Cascades were an American vocal group best known for their hit single "Rhythm of the Rain" of 1962. In 1960, the Silver Strands were a group of United States Navy personnel serving on the USS Ticonderoga based in San Diego, California. They recruited John Gummoe, and left the Navy to become The Thundernotes. At this point, the group's membership consolidated as John Gummoe (born John Claude Gummoe, August 2, 1938, Cleveland, Ohio) (lead vocals), Eddie Snyder (guitar), David Szabo (keyboardist), Dave Stevens (bassist), and Dave Wilson (drummer). The group then started to get more interested in vocal harmony, influenced by the Beach Boys. They recorded demos which ended up with Phil Spector at Valiant Records, a subsidiary of Warner Brothers, who signed them up and also changed their name to The Cascades – supposedly inspired by a nearby box of detergent. "Rhythm of the Rain" was issued in November 1962. It rose to #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1963, and became a major hit in over 80 countries. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. "Maybe The Rain Will Fall" did fairly well on San Diego radio charts in the summer of 1969.

The Partridge Family is an American television serie about a widowed mother and her five children who embarked on a music career. The family lived in San Pueblo, a small fictional town in Northern California. The series was originally broadcast on ABC from 1970 to 1974. Sound Magazine was the third album from The Partridge Family. It was released in August 1971 and, like all of the Partridge Family recordings, was produced by Wes Farrell. The LP was certified gold in September of that year and is near-universally regarded – by both fans and critics – as the Partridge Family's consummate pop album. 01 - One Night Stand 02 - Brown Eyes 03 - Echo Valley 2-6809 04 - You Don't Have to Tell Me 05 - Rainmaker 06 - I'm on My Way Back Home 07 - Summer Days 08 - I Would Have Loved You Anyway 09 - Twenty-Four Hours a Day 10 - I Woke up in Love This Morning 11 - Love Is All That I Ever Needed LINK
