Izitso album. 1976 Copenhagen sessions with Ringo on drums. Previous
released on the bootleg "Beatles - Sink In The Can". A very strange
compilation of tracks. There's even a bootleg of this bootleg with the
original Lee Dorsey song "working in the colemine" credited to the
Beatles. Everything what should not be on that album is ommited to
create a fine Cat Steven album. The sessions of Cat Stevens with Ringo
have now been compiled in the correct order.

 Bang was an American hard rock band from Florida, active briefly in the early 1970s. The group released three albums on Capitol Records, and had one minor hit single with "Questions", which reached #90 on the Billboard Hot 100. After a 25 year hiatus, the group reformed in the early 2000s and recorded 3 more albums.  Forest were an English psychedelic folk trio who formed in Grimsby, Lincolnshire in 1966. Made up of brothers Martin Welham, Adrian Welham and school friend Dez Allenby, they started out performing unaccompanied traditional folk music in a similar vein to contemporaries The Watersons and The Young Tradition. The band were pioneers of the nascent 1960s psychedelic folk scene writing unconventionally crafted songs evoking Britain's ancient groves using a variety of acoustic instruments. Beginning life under the name The Foresters of Walesby, they began singing unaccompanied vocal harmony folk songs in Lincolnshire folk clubs. After relocating to Birmingham in 1968 the band shortened their name to Forest and soon progressed to writing within the burgeoning psychedelic folk movement in the wake of the Incredible String Band's emergence in the mid-1960s. They were championed by DJ John Peel and performed several sessions for BBC Radio 1. In 1969 they were signed by Blackhill Enterprises and were amongst the first wave of signings for EMI's new progressive Harvest Records label. The non-album single "Searching for Shadows" was released in 1969, followed by Forest's debut eponymous album which featured an array of acoustic medieval sounding instruments, contrapunctal harmonies and pastoral lyrical imagery. Full Circle was released a year later, an eclectic set of songs with darker themes that saw more disparate styles incoporated into their brand of pagan folk. The album included the neo-classical 'Graveyard', opening track 'Hawk The Hawker' which was given a country music hint by the inclusion of steel guitar (played by session musician Gordon Huntley) and the traditional folk piece 'Famine Song', which saw the band return to their unaccompanied three-part harmony roots. Both gatefold album covers featured strikingly haunting artwork by artist Joan Melville.  German Prog/Hard Rock band Jeronimo, was founded in 1969 and in '69/'70 they had their first two hits "He Ya" and "Na Na Hey Hey". With these two chartbreakers, Jeronimo climbed to the number 1 position in almost all European countries. In 1970 Jeronimo and "Steppenwolf" toured successfully through Germany and in the same year Jeronimo partook in the legendary "Progressive Pop Festival" in Cologne. Following that, Jeronimo shared the headlines with such groups as "Deep Purple" and "Golden Earring" at various European open-air festivals. In 1970, Jeronimo, together with Creedence Clearwater, presented the album "Spirit Orgaszmus", which was a success throughout all of Europe. After 30 years and millions of records sold worldwide, Jeronimo is still cult. In 1999/2000, their hits "Na Na Hey Hey" and "He Ya" were re-released on numerous hit-compilations. The CD's "Cosmic Blues", "Time Ride" and "Best of" have been available in record stores since 1991.  Pavlov's Dog is a 1970s progressive rock/AOR band formed in St. Louis, Missouri in 1972. Pavlov's Dog originally comprised David Surkamp, Mark Gahr on lead guitar, Mike Safron, Rick Stockton, David Hamilton, Doug Rayburn, and Siegfried Carver. Mark Gahr left the band and was replaced by Steve Scorfina. On their second album At the Sound of the Bell (1976), Tom Nickeson was added to the line-up on guitar and he took over Hamilton's keyboard position after the album had been recorded as Hamilton left the band. Safron was still a member of the band but did not appear on the second album; former Yes drummer Bill Bruford played as a guest musician. Safron left in the aftermath of this, partially due to his failure to receive a promised credit on the album sleeve and the band's third album featured Kirk Sarkisian on drums. The band's debut Pampered Menial was briefly released in 1974 on ABC Records but then quickly re-issued by Columbia Records. The result was that both versions appeared in stores at nearly the same time, which may have confused the public. The album was produced by Sandy Pearlman and Murray Krugman who had found success earlier in the decade producing Blue Öyster Cult. Carver left the band after the release of Pampered Menial. Their second album At the Sound of the Bell followed on Columbia in 1975.  Alex Harvey was a Scottish rock musician. With The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, he built a reputation as an exciting live performer during the 1970s glam rock era. His musical roots were in Dixieland jazz and skiffle music, which enjoyed considerable popularity in England and Scotland during the late 1950s. From 1958-1965, he was the leader of Alex Harvey's Big Soul Band, playing blues and rock and roll songs and spent considerable time touring in the United Kingdom and Germany. He also won a competition that sought "Scotland's answer to Tommy Steele." Harvey became strongly identified with British rhythm and blues music, although he was equally able to play rock songs. After leaving the Big Soul Band, he briefly tried for a solo career, but with little success. By 1967, he found a positive direction for his career when he became a member of the pit band in the London stage production of the musical Hair. This band recorded the live LP Hair Rave Up which contained Harvey originals and other songs not from the stage show. In 1970 Harvey formed Rock Workshop with Ray Russell; their first, self-titled album contained an early version of "Hole In Her Stocking",later to appear on Framed. Harvey remained with "Hair" for five years. Roman Wall Blues is an album made after the Soul Band, and his time in the Hair pit band.  If was a progressive rock band formed in Britain in 1969. Referred to by Billboard as "unquestionably the best of the so-called jazz-rock bands", in the period spanning 1970-1975, they produced 8 studio-recorded albums and did some 17 tours of Europe, the US and Canada. If was a seminal band formed in 1969 as Britain’s answer to the pioneering U.S. bands Blood, Sweat and Tears and Chicago. Unlike these groups, however, If did not have a trumpet or trombone player but instead featured two saxophone players. Essentially a live band, true to its strong jazz influences, If was one of the few jazz-rock groups, both then and now, to feature solos by all the band members, not just by the lead instruments. Like early pioneers Chicago, If were difficult to classify with any of their contemporaries; they seemed out of place wherever they played, and were considered too jazzy when billed with groups with more of a rock orientation, and too bluesy or loud when billed with more jazz-oriented bands. They toured extensively in Europe and the United States during the early 1970s, with two U.S. tours during their first year, performing at most of the major venues and festivals of the day including Newport, Reading, Fillmore East (November 10, 1970, sharing the billing with Black Sabbath and Small Faces) and Fillmore West, Whisky A Go-Go, and The Marquee. They also shared billings with, amongst others, Miles Davis, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon and Leon Russell as well as many of the classic rock bands of the day, such as Cream, Traffic, Yes, Grand Funk Railroad, Ten Years After, KISS, Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.  Shiva’s Headband, an early Texas psychedelic rock band, formed in Austin in 1967. The group was the house band at the Vulcan Gas Company, a late 1960s Austin nightclub. The band is credited with a significant role in the founding of the Armadillo World Headquarters. The bands first royalty check opened the club and hired Eddie Wilson as manager. Shiva's Headband was also the first band to perform there. Throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, the band played with touring acts such as Spirit, Steppenwolf, ZZ Top, Janis Joplin, Canned Heat and Steve Miller. Austin psychedelic bands contemporary to Shiva's Headband included the 13th Floor Elevators and Conqueroo. Shiva's Headband's Capitol Records album, Take Me To The Mountains, produced by bandleader Spencer Perskin with Fred Catero, became the first record released nationally by an Austin-based rock band. The album cover featured artwork by Jim Franklin.  Dion Francis DiMucci better known as Dion, is an American singer-songwriter whose work has incorporated elements of doo-wop, pop, rock and R&B styles. One of the most popular American rock and roll performers of the pre-British Invasion era, Dion had over a dozen Top 40 hits in the late 1950s and early 60s. He is best remembered for the exuberant 1961 singles "Runaround Sue", a No. 1 hit about a two-timing woman, and "The Wanderer", a No. 2 hit about a philandering man that was, somewhat accidentally, an answer song to "Runaround Sue". Due to changing public tastes and personal problems, Dion faltered in the mid-1960s; he regained popularity later in the decade and into the early 1970s with more mature, contemplative material such as "Abraham, Martin & John". He has continued making music to the present, earning reappraisals from critics who earlier dismissed him as a teen idol. Dion’s lost folk-rock masterpiece!  Denny Belline & The Rich Kids, garage Punk/Rock band from Long Island, New York was Rca Victor's answer to the "Young Rascals". Richard Supa (lead guitar, vocals) - Dennis Belline (rhythm guitar, vocals) - Gilbert Slavin (organ, piano) - Antony Krasinski (drums) - Richie Cardenas (bass, vocals). Good LP mostly uptempo ravers 'recorded in front of a dancing teen crowd at the Shore Club in Sayville, Long Island'. Denny is Perry Como's nephew known from his earlier band the Dwellers.  American Southern Rock band, with members of The Flying Burrito Brothers. Pat Robinson started his career at age 15 by writing and singing his own songs. He signed his first recording contract with Four Star Productions with his band Fenwyck. They recorded an album at American Recording Studio with legendary producer Richie Podolor (Three Dog Night, Steppenwolf). After some personnel changes, Fenwyck changed their name to Back Pocket. They signed a recording contract with Del-Fi Records/Allied Records with established producer Bob Keane (Richie Valens, Sam Cooke, Bobby Fuller Four) and recorded the album "Back Pocket”. Following its release, the band toured the United States and Europe for several years. Back Pocket then signed with Joyce Records and recorded the album "Buzzard Bait”.  Flower Travellin' Band is a Japanese heavy psych outfit that was first active in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The band was initially started as a side-project by Yuya Uchida when he returned to Japan after visiting his friend John Lennon in England in the mid 60s, where he was introduced to various upcoming artists such as Cream, and Jimi Hendrix. Yuya wanted to introduce their work to a Japanese audience, and formed the "Flowers" as a cover band with various group sounds musicians, and two vocalists; male singer Chiba Hiroshi, and female singer Remi Aso. They released an album titled Challenge! in 1968, featuring covers of songs by Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Jefferson Airplane, and Big Brother and the Holding Company, in addition to an original song. They became friends with the Canadian band Lighthouse, and after meeting Paul Hoffert of Lighthouse at the Expo 70 festival in Osaka, they relocated to Canada where they performed with artists such as Dr. John, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. While in Canada they recorded their second original album Made In Japan and signed a deal with Atlantic Records. Due to Wada becoming ill, drummer Paul Devon plays on some tracks on this album.  Philip David Ochs was an American protest singer (or, as he preferred, a topical singer) and songwriter who was known for his sharp wit, sardonic humor, earnest humanism, political activism, insightful and alliterative lyrics, and haunting voice. He wrote hundreds of songs in the 1960s and released eight albums in his lifetime. Ochs performed at many political events, including anti-Vietnam War and civil rights rallies, student events, and organized labor events over the course of his career, in addition to many concert appearances at such venues as New York City's Town Hall and Carnegie Hall. Politically, Ochs described himself as a "left social democrat" who became an "early revolutionary" after the protests at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago led to a police riot, which had a profound effect on his state of mind. After years of prolific writing in the 1960s, Ochs's mental stability declined in the 1970s. He eventually succumbed to a number of problems including bipolar disorder and alcoholism, and took his own life in 1976. Some of Ochs's major influences were Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Bob Gibson, Faron Young, Merle Haggard, John Wayne, and John F. Kennedy. All The News That's Fit to Sing was Phil Ochs' first official album. Recorded in 1964 for Elektra Records, it was full of many elements that would come back throughout his career. It was the album that defined his "singing journalist" phase, strewn with songs whose roots were allegedly pulled from Newsweek magazine.  Barry McGuire is an American singer-songwriter best known for the hit song "Eve of Destruction", and later as a singer and songwriter of Contemporary Christian Music. McGuire was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and moved to California in early childhood, when he was 2 years old. At age 16 he joined the United States Navy, but was discharged ten months later for being under age. After working as a commercial fisherman, and then going onto become a journeyman pipe fitter, at age 25 McGuire got a job singing in a bar. In 1961, he released his first single called "The Tree", which was not a hit. He formed a duo with Barry Kane called Barry & Barry. The new duo folk act performed their own brand of original folk arrangements - noticeably impressive melodies laced with rich harmonies - at "The Ice House", a small folk club in Pasadena, CA. before moving on to "The Troubadour" in Hollywood in the spring of 1962. At The Troubadour they both joined The New Christy Minstrels, a large folk group performing there. They continued to perform their separate duo act there as well as performing with The New Christy Minstrels. They cut their first and only album as Barry & Barry called "Here And Now" which contained songs such as "Gold Wedding Ring", "Land Of Odin", "Another Man", "Summer's Over", "You Know My Name", "Bull 'Gine Run", "Far Side Of The Hill" and more. Their LP "Here And Now" on vinyl eventually went out of print, but has since been digitally remastered and rereleased on CD. Barry McGuire & the Doctor, is simply the best McGuire album.  Davie Allan is a guitarist best known for his work on soundtracks to various teen and biker movies in the 1960s. Allan's backing band is almost always the Arrows (i.e., Davie Allan & the Arrows), although the Arrows have never been a stable lineup. Allan grew up in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California, and learned to play guitar as a teenager. His career as a musician began when he teamed up with Mike Curb, a friend he met in the choir at Grant High School in Van Nuys, California, to form an instrumental surf combo. In 1963, Curb founded Cude Records, the first of many labels he would run, and released the first Davie Allan single, "War Path.” Allan participated in recording a number of other singles for Curb's label, released under group names like the Sudells, the Heyburners, and the Zanies. As an album, the Arrows' Cycle Delic Sounds Of.. is a standalone among instrumental rock & roll records. Recorded in late 1967, it fully exploits the recording studio to full-on psychedelic effect, while its tracks are burning rock & roll guitar workouts that merge hard and heavy hot rod, surf, and biker music. This is the next step -- the unholy sonic marriage of Dick Dale and the Ventures with Link Wray and the young Jimi Hendrix. The title cut leads it off with squalling wah-wah raunch & roll, drenched in fuzz and studio effects, it's wild, raw, and unfettered.  Blues Rock band from San Diego. The album, though being issued on the small Lizard label, may be not so obscure, but the band surely is. Named after a small town somewhere out in the back country near San Diego, there is almost no information available on this outfit. They are: Steve Williams, Bob Desnoyers, Ron Armstrong and John Fergus. Their music is mostly heavy blues rock with extremely powerful vocals. Hapshash and the Coloured Coat is the name of an influential British graphic design and avant-garde musical partnership between Michael English and Nigel Waymouth, producing psychedelic posters and two albums of underground music. They released Featuring the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids in 1967, and Western Flier in 1969. The 'Heavy Metal Kids' were in fact the fledgling group ART, members of which would become the short-lived group SPOOKY TOOTH (Mike Harrison, Greg Ridley, Mike Kellie and Luther Grosvenor).  Alpha Centauri were an American band, formed in Greely, Colorado, in 1971. They then moved to Canada and gathered themselves even more of a following with extensive touring, playing right round the country. Before the internet really took off, this was one sought after album, commanding high prices by many dealers in the know. But then a re-issue in 1995 on Pacemaker Records, and the internet being made readily available to the man in the street, this kinda lost its aura of the unobtainability. A great album, if a little dated, full of flashy guitar and keyboard interplay. Tramp were a British blues band active during the late 1960s and early 1970s on an intermittent basis. This on/off activity and the loose, transient nature of the band's line-up were reflected in the group's name. The line-up centred around the brother-sister pairing of Dave Kelly and Jo Ann Kelly, and included various members of Fleetwood Mac, plus various session musicians. The band released two albums; Tramp in 1969, and Put A Record On in 1974. All members participated in many other projects before, after and even during their time with Tramp. Great Progressive Rock band from the UK. Taking their name from Mervyn Peake's gothic fantasy novel, Titus Groan was a quartet lead by guitar/keyboardist and singer Stewart Cowell and wind player Tony Priestland. Their sound approaches the early UK prog (sometimes called proto-prog), all tracks being over 5 minutes long and often fronted by wind instruments is promising, but ultimately deceiving as the songs lack depth.
