The Beatles - 1965 - Rubber Soul Rubber Soul is the sixth UK studio album by the English rock band The Beatles, released in December 1965. Produced by George Martin, Rubber Soul had been recorded in just over four weeks to make the Christmas market. Unlike the five albums that preceded it, Rubber Soul was the first Beatle album recorded during a specific period without being interrupted by tour dates (though the group's debut album Please Please Me was technically recorded in a single day, four of the tracks were recorded several months before). All of the Beatle albums after Rubber Soul (except Magical Mystery Tour) followed this process. The album was described as a major artistic achievement, attaining widespread critical and commercial success, with reviewers taking note of The Beatles' developing musical vision. 01 - Drive My Car 02 - Norwegian Wood (This Bird Can Flown) 03 - You Won't See Me 04 - Nowhere Man 05 - Think For Yourself 06 - The Word 07 - Michelle 08 - What Goes On 09 - Girl 10 - I'm Looking Through You 11 - In My Life 12 - Wait 13 - If I Needed Someone 14 - Run For Your Life LINK

Vanity Fare (due to the similarity of the novel and magazine title often misspelled Vanity Fair) were a UK pop/rock group formed in 1966, best remembered for their million selling song, "Hitchin' a Ride," which became a worldwide hit in 1970. School friends Trevor Brice (vocals), Tony Goulden (guitar), Dick Allix (drums) and Tony Jarrett (bass) formed the band in Kent in 1966, originally calling themselves The Avengers. They played local clubs and were spotted by entrepreneur Roger Easterby who became their manager and producer. Having changed the name of the band to Vanity Fare, they signed to Page One Records. Vanity Fare achieved a UK hit single with their first release, a cover of "I Live For The Sun" (originally recorded by The Sunrays in 1965) in the summer of 1968. Following two more singles, "Summer Morning" and "Highway Of Dreams," both of which failed to make the UK Singles Chart, they released their biggest UK hit "Early in the Morning". Written by Mike Leander and Eddie Seago, it reached number 8 in that country in August 1969 and number 12 in the US in early 1970. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. The band was on tour with P.J. Proby in 2007.

The Cryan' Shames are an American garage rock group from Hinsdale, Illinois. They originally formed as The Travelers, with founding members Tom Doody ("Toad"), Gerry Stone ("Stonehenge"), Dave Purple ("Grape") of The Prowlers, Denny Conroy and Jim Fairs from The Roosters, and Jim Pilster ("J.C. Hooke"). The band later changed its name to The Cryan' Shames in 1966. J.C. Hooke, having been fitted for a hook as he was born without a left hand, was responsible for naming the group because of the problem they had coming up with a name ... "being a Cryan' Shame." The group disbanded in December 1969, but reunited again and continues to tour. Jim "J.C. Hooke" Pilster and Tom Doody (Toad) are the only remaining original members of the current lineup. Synthesis was the last album.

McGuinness Flint was a rock band formed in 1970 by Tom McGuinness, former bassist and guitarist with Manfred Mann, and Hughie Flint, former drummer with John Mayall; plus vocalist and keyboard player Dennis Coulson, and multi-instrumentalists and songwriters Benny Gallagher and Graham Lyle. With a varying subsequent line-up, "they earned a loyal following in Britain, but in the United States they were scarcely more than a cult act, despite a top-flight lineup and a sound that should have been a natural for the era." C'est la Vie was the last album of the band.

Wayne Fontana, is a British singer. In 1962, he formed his group Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders and got a recording contract. He was still under contract to Fontana Records after parting with The Mindbenders. He soldiered on alone, using musicians under the name of the Opposition. Sometimes they were billed as the Mindbenders, or just as the Wayne Fontana band. Fontana's most successful solo single release was also his last, "Pamela, Pamela", which reached Number 11 in the UK Singles Chart early in 1967.

The Jazz Soul of Little Stevie is the 1962 debut album by Stevie Wonder (then billed as "Little Stevie Wonder") on the Tamla (Motown) label. The LP showcases the twelve-year-old Wonder's talents as a singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. Wonder's mentors Clarence Paul and Henry Cosby wrote and produced the material on The Jazz Soul of Little Stevie Wonder, with young Wonder himself also co-writing two of the compositions. The original studio version of "Fingertips" is included on the album; a live version would become Wonder's first hit single. 01 - Fingertips 02 - Square 03 - Soul Bongo 04 - Manhattan At Six 05 - Paulsby 06 - Some Other Time 07 - Wondering 08 - Session Number 112 09 - Bam LINK
Wishbone Ash are a British rock band who achieved success in the early and mid-1970s. Their popular records include Wishbone Ash (1970), Argus (1972), There's the Rub (1974), and New England (1976). They were one of the first of many bands to come who used twin lead guitars. Wishbone Ash are considered to be one of the major innovators of the harmony twin lead guitar format. Their contributions helped in Powell and Turner being voted "Two Of The Ten Most Important Guitarists In Rock History" (Traffic magazine 1989), and part of the "Top 20 Guitarists Of All Time" (Rolling Stone magazine). Melody Maker (1972) described Ted Turner and Andy Powell as "the most interesting two guitar team since the days when Beck and Page graced The Yardbirds". Formed in Devon, United Kingdom, in 1969, out of the ashes of trio The Empty Vessels (originally known as The Torinoes, later briefly renamed Tanglewood in 1969), which had been formed by Wishbone Ash's founding member Martin Turner (bass/vocals) in 1963 and completed by Steve Upton (drums and percussion) in 1966. The original Wishbone Ash line-up was completed by guitarists/vocalists Andy Powell and Ted Turner. This is the debut album.
