Procol Harum are a British rock band, formed in the 1960s, who contributed to the development of progressive rock, and by extension, symphonic rock. Their best-known recording is their 1967 single "A Whiter Shade of Pale." Although noted for its baroque and classical influence, Procol Harum's music also embraces the blues and soul. Still alive today, five orchestral concerts have been announced in Denmark in January 2011. Procol Harum is the self-titled first album Procol Harum, released in June 1967. The original Deram release of the LP included a large poster of the album cover artwork by Dickinson. Though the album was recorded on multi-track, it was issued in mono-only in the UK, and in mono and rechanneled stereo in the US. Despite extensive searching, the original multi-track tapes have not been located and thus a stereo mix of the original 10 tracks may never be possible. Several alternate takes, however, have been mixed into stereo and are available on CD. 01 - Conquistador 02 - She Wandered Through The Garde 03 - Something Following Me 04 - Mabel 05 - Cerdes (Outside The Gates Of) 06 - A Christmas Camel 07 - Kaleidoscope 08 - Salad Days (Are Here Again) 09 - Good Captain Clack 10 - Repent Walpurgis 11 - A Whiter Shade Of Pale LINK
