The Paramounts - 1966 - Whiter Shades of RnB (Pre Procol Harum)
The Paramounts were an English beat group, based in Southend. They had one hit single with their cover version of "Poison Ivy", which reached #35 on the UK Singles Chart in 1964. After the Paramounts split up, Gary Brooker (vocals) founded Procol Harum. Lead guitarist Robin Trower and drummer B.J. Wilson soon joined Brooker. Eventually bassist Chris Copping also joined Procol Harum, playing both bass guitar and organ. They were signed to Parlophone in late 1963 and made their debut with "Poison Ivy", recorded with record producer, Ron Richards. 01 - Poison Ivy 02 - I Feel Good All Over 03 - Little Bitty Pretty One 04 - Certain Girl 05 - I'm The One Who Loves You 06 - It Won't Be Long 07 - Bad Blood 08 - Do I 09 - Blue Ribbons 10 - Cuttin' In 11 - You Never Had It So Good 12 - Doncha Like My Love 13 - Draw Me Closer 14 - Turn On Your Lovelight 15 - You've Got What I Want 16 - Freedom LINK
