The Count Five was a 1960s garage rock band from San Jose, California, best known for their Top 10 single "Psychotic Reaction". The band was founded in 1964 by John "Mouse" Michalski (lead guitar) and Kenn Ellner (harmonica, vocals), two high school friends who had previously played in several short-lived outfits. After going shortly under the name The Squires, and several line-up changes later, the Count Five were born. Roy Chaney took over bass duties, John "Sean" Byrne played rhythm guitar and lead vocals, and Craig "Butch" Atkinson played drums. The Count Five gained distinction for their habit of wearing Count Dracula-style capes when playing live. The band members were rejected by several record labels before they got signed to the Los Angeles-based Double Shot Records. "Psychotic Reaction" was released as a single, peaking at #5 in the U.S. charts in late 1966. The band got along for about another year, but dropped out of view altogether when their only hit had fallen from public memory. Another setback to a potential career in the music business was the decision of the five members (who were between the ages of 17 and 19) to pursue college degrees.

The good, the bad and the ugly about a crazy little thing called love." As of 2001 Diamond has 115 million records sold worldwide, including 48 million records in the U.S. In terms of Billboard chart success, he is the third most successful Adult Contemporary artist ever, ranking behind only Barbra Streisand and Elton John. Cocteau Twins were a Scottish alternative rock band active from 1979 to 1997, known for complex instrumentation and atmospheric, non-lyrical vocals. Though formed in the post-punk and New Wave era, the Cocteau Twins tended to defy concise categorisation, and their music was a key influence on dream pop. Whilst the entire band earned much critical praise, Elizabeth Fraser's distinctive vocals received the most attention. At times barely decipherable, Fraser seemed to veer into glossolalia and mouth music. Allmusic reviewer Ned Raggett writes that "part of her appeal is how she can make hard-to-interpret lyrics so emotionally gripping." Milk and Kisses is an album issued in 1996. It proved their last; a meeting two years later to record a new album ended with the breakup of the band. 01 - Violane 02 - Serpentskirt 03 - Tishbite 04 - Half-Gifts 05 - Calfskin Smack 06 - Rilkean Heart 07 - Ups 08 - Eperdu 09 - Treasure Hiding 10 - Seekers Who Are Lovers LINK
Yusuf Islam commonly known by his former stage name Cat Stevens, is a British musician. He is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, educator, philanthropist, and prominent convert to Islam. His early 1970s record albums Tea for the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat were both certified as Triple Platinum by the RIAA in the United States; his 1972 album Catch Bull at Four sold half a million copies in the first two weeks of release alone and was Billboard's number-one LP for three consecutive weeks. He has also earned two ASCAP songwriting awards in consecutive years for "The First Cut Is the Deepest", which has been a hit single for four different artists. Stevens converted to Islam at the height of his fame, in December 1977, and adopted his Muslim name, Yusuf Islam, the following year. He returned to pop music with his first album of new pop songs in 28 years. "This album is not for everyone. In the age of hard-edged, angry rap, some people will undoubtedly Yusuf's folky spiritualism out-moded and passe. For those of us who loved Cat Stevens thirty years ago, however, this disc represents a long-awaited return to a magical world we feared we had lost forever."

Bruce Springsteen - 1978 - Darkness On The Edge Of Town
Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen, nicknamed "The Boss", is an American singer-songwriter who records and tours with the E Street Band. Springsteen is widely known for his brand of heartland rock infused with pop hooks, poetic lyrics, and Americana sentiments centered on his native New Jersey. Springsteen's recordings have tended to alternate between commercially accessible rock albums and somber folk-oriented works. Much of his status stems from the concerts and marathon shows in which he and the E Street Band perform intense ballads, rousing anthems, and party rock and roll songs, amongst which he intersperses whimsical or deeply emotional stories. Recovering from legal troubles and the stress of the breakthrough success of Born to Run, Springsteen released a somewhat less commercial album, Darkness on the Edge of Town. Is the fourth album by Bruce, released in 1978. 01 - Badlands 02 - Adam Raised A Cain 03 - Something In The Night 04 - Candy's Room 05 - Racing In The Street 06 - The Promised Land 07 - Factory 08 - Streets Of Fire 09 - Prove It All Night 10 - Darkness On The Edge Of Town LINK Bruce Springsteen - 1992 - Lucky Town
Lucky Town is the tenth studio album by Bruce Springsteen, released in 1992. This album was released on the same day as Human Touch. The title track was featured in the film Lucky You. When Springsteen was working on Human Touch, he was intending to release the album sometime in 1990, but the project took him longer than he thought. He shelved the project in early 1991 and came back to it in September of the same year. He was intending to make one more song for the album, but he ended up making ten new songs, which wound up making a whole new album. Once he completed Lucky Town, he decided to release both albums at the same time. 01 - Better Days 02 - Lucky Town 03 - Local Hero 04 - If I Should Fall Behind 05 - Leap Of Faith 06 - The Big Muddy 07 - Living Proof 08 - Book Of Dreams 09 - Souls Of The Departed 10 - My Beautiful Reward LINK

One of the "Three Kings of the Blues Guitar" (along with B. B. King and Freddie King), Albert King stood 6' 4" (192 cm) and weighed 250 lbs (118 kg) and was known as "The Velvet Bulldozer". He was born Albert Nelson on a cotton plantation in Indianola, Mississippi. During his childhood he would sing at a family gospel group at a church. One of 13 children, King grew up picking cotton on plantations near Forrest City, Arkansas where the family moved when he was eight. He began his professional work as a musician with a group called In The Groove Boys in Osceola, Arkansas. He also briefly played drums for Jimmy Reed's band and on several early Reed recordings. Influenced by blues musicians Blind Lemon Jefferson and Lonnie Johnson, but also interestingly Hawaiian music, the electric guitar became his signature instrument, his preference being the Gibson Flying V, which he named "Lucy". ABBA Live is an album of live recordings by Swedish pop group ABBA, released by Polar Music in 1986 (see 1986 in music). When this LP/CD was released, the band's popularity was at an all-time low and none of the members themselves were involved in the production of the album. ABBA Live contains recordings from 1977, 1979 and 1981 - much to the dismay of both music critics and ABBA fans it also had 80's synth drums overdubbed on most tracks, taking away the true live feeling of the performances. Neither did it feature any of the tracks that the band had performed live on their tours but never included on any of their studio albums, such as I Am An A, Get On The Carousel, I'm Still Alive, or the original live versions of the songs from the 1977 mini-musical The Girl With The Golden Hair; Thank You For The Music, I Wonder (Departure) and I'm A Marionette, all of which had slightly different lyrics and/or musical arrangements to the subsequent studio recordings included on ABBA - The Album. Fernando and Money, Money, Money recorded 3 and 12 March 1977, Australia, Two For The Price Of One, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, Super Trouper and On and On and On, recorded in SVT Studios for TV program Dick Cavett Meets Abba, April 29 1981, all other tracks recorded during performances at the Wembley Arena, 5/10 Nov 1979
