Sharon Tandy - 1965-69 - You Gotta Believe It's
Blue-eyed soul, freakbeat and state-of-the-art girl pop, South African Sharon Tandy was one of the best voices of the time. This first-ever career retrospective features virtually all of her 1960s singles and several cuts from Sharon's legendary 1966 session at Stax in Memphis. You've Gotta Believe It's Sharon Tandy includes virtually all the singer's UK singles 1965-69, upon most of which Sharon was accompanied by the Fleur De Lys - tracks such as Daughter Of The Sun and mod anthem Hold On have been sought-after collectors' items for years. Sharon was equally adept at pop, as evidenced by gems such as Perhaps Not Forever, and You've Gotta Believe It, the latter an absolute high-water mark of British girl recordings. And a full seven songs, including five previously unissued, derive from Sharon's legendary 1966 session at Stax, where she was backed by Isaac Hayes and Booker T & The MGs. 01 - You've Gotta Believe It 02 - Hold On 03 - I Can't Get Over It 04 - Our Day Will Come 05 - Perhaps Not Forever 06 - One Way Street 07 - Hurry Hurry Choo Choo 08 - Daughter Of The Sun 09 - Toe Hold 10 - Love Is Not A Simple Affair 11 - Look And Find 12 - I Wanna Be Your Baby 13 - The Way She Looks At You 14 - Hurtin' Me 15 - For A Little While 16 - Stay With Me 17 - I've Found Love 18 - Move A Little Closer 19 - Gotta Get Enough Time 20 - Border Town 21 - Things Get Better 22 - World 23 - He'll Hurt Me 24 - Now That You've Gone 25 - Somebody Speaks Your Name 26 - Two Can Make It Together LINK
