Yes are an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968, generally regarded as one of the archetypal bands and pioneers of the genre. Despite many lineup changes, occasional splits within the group, and the ever-changing trends in popular music, the band have continued for more than 40 years and still retain a large following. They have sold over 30 million albums. The band's music blends symphonic and other classical structures with their own brand of rock music. Although the band's sole consistent member has been bass player Chris Squire, Yes are also generally noted for the distinctive high-register vocals of former lead singer Jon Anderson and the eclectic musical stylings of a succession of guitarists (Steve Howe, Peter Banks, Trevor Rabin, Billy Sherwood), keyboard players (Rick Wakeman, Tony Kaye, Patrick Moraz, Geoff Downes, Igor Khoroshev, Oliver Wakeman), and drummers (Alan White and Bill Bruford). Several band members became celebrated musicians and/or bandleaders in their own right, and a 1980 lineup of the band was briefly fronted by Trevor Horn (shortly before he became one of rock music's most celebrated record producers). Yes is the 1969 eponymous debut album from Yes, considered among the first progressive rock albums. With the original Yes line-up of vocalist Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye and drummer Bill Bruford, Yes was the quintet's original musical release. Lester Bangs favourably reviewed the album in Rolling Stone, writing that it was "the kind of album that sometimes insinuates itself into your routine with a totally unexpected thrust of musical power."

"One of the finest American progressive rock groups of the 70s". Yezda Urfa is an American progressive rock band founded in the fall of 1973. The band recorded two albums before breaking up in the spring of 1981. The band's music is currently distributed by Syn-phonic. The name Yezda Urfa comes from Yazd, Iran and Urfa, Turkey. The band came across these names while leafing through the dictionary, looking for a band name. Yazd was changed to Yezda to ease pronunciation. Described as a blend of Yes and Gentle Giant, Yezda Urfa is known for playing high-energy progressive rock. Break-neck tempos, changing time signatures, and diverse instrumentation are hallmarks of their sound. The Animals on Tour was The Animals' second album in the United States. The title did not mean to imply a live album, which it was not, but rather that the music on it was influenced by the American musical genres the English group had encountered during their previous trips stateside. Catch Us If You Can (1965) (released with the title Having a Wild Weekend in the U.S.) was the feature-film debut of director John Boorman. Ostensibly designed as a vehicle for pop band The Dave Clark Five, whose popularity at the time almost rivalled that of The Beatles, and named after their hit song "Catch Us If You Can", this strangely downbeat film actually departs in various ways from the formula created by Richard Lester in A Hard Day's Night, and by Sidney J. Furie and Peter Yates with the Cliff Richard films. Although they perform the off-screen soundtrack music, The Dave Clark Five (unlike The Beatles) do not play themselves, but appear to be a team of freelance stuntmen/extras, led by the saturnine Steve (Dave Clark). Clark had worked as a stuntman on a number of films, providing him with experience and camera-sense that The Beatles would have lacked in A Hard Day's Night. Far from being a conventional pop vehicle, this serious, thought-provoking film concerns itself with the frailty of personal relationships, the flimsiness of dreams, and the difficulty of maintaining spontaneity and integrity in a stage-managed "society of the spectacle." 01 - Catch Us If You Can02 - On the Move03 - If You Come Back04 - Long Ago05 - Any Time You Want Love06 - I Can't Stand It07 - Your Turn To Cry08 - Hurting Inside09 - Don't Be Taken In10 - Don't You Realize11 - I Cried Over You12 - Sweet MemoriesLINK

The Dave Clark Five had 17 records in Billboard's Top 40, with 12 Top 40 United Kingdom hits between 1964 and 1967. Their song "Over And Over" went to number one in the U.S. on the Billboard Hot 100 at the end of December 1965, despite less than impressive sales in the UK, and they played to sell-out crowds on their tours of the U.S. Promoted as having a "cleaner" image than the Beatles, the Dave Clark Five were the first British band to tour the USA, and they made 18 appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show. Weekend In London was released only in USA.01 - Come Home02 - We`ll Be Running03 - Blue Suede Shoes04 - Hurting Inside05 - I`ll Never Know06 - `Til The Right One Comes Along07 - I`m Thinking08 - Your Turn To Cry09 - Little Bitty Pretty One10 - Remember It`s Me (Stereo)11 - Mighty Good Lovin`LINK

This is a fine early collection of the DC5's biggest hits. The covers of Chris Kenner and the Contours are eminently forgettable, but their original songs are solid British invasion pop. This album, which never saw a U.S. release, is pretty amazing as a document of where the Dave Clark Five were in the last third of the 1960s. Divided between a fast side and a ballad side, the group's pounding beat was still there, albeit just a bit slower; the rhythm guitar had given way to jagged lead lines, and Mike Smith was singing a few shades blacker than he'd sounded in 1964.01 - Nineteen Days (Stereo)02 - Something I've Always Wanted03 - Little Bit Strong04 - Bernedette05 - Sitting Here Baby06 - You Don't Want My Loving07 - How Can I Tell You08 - Picture Of You09 - Small Talk10 - Pick Up Your PhoneLINK
