Bee Gees Greatest is a compilation album of songs by the Bee Gees, released in 1979 by RSO Records. Coming soon after the blockbuster studio album Spirits Having Flown, Greatest was a summary of the Bee Gees' most recent period of success, 1975-1979. The original release was a double album, with album sleeves and labels featuring pictures of each brother on the label and all three brothers on side four, while each record sleeve was adorned with the Bee Gees Greatest logo. Bee Gees Greatest topped the Billboard album charts early in 1980, becoming their third consecutive number one album. The re-issue of Bee Gees Greatest debuted at #1 on Billboard's Pop Catalog charts for the week of September 30, 2007. There was some question as to whether Billboard was going to treat this as a new release or a re-issue. The set scanned over 20,000 copies for the week, making it the 35th best selling album in the country, good enough to place in Billboard's Top 40. The album's first three tracks were released as singles which all went to no.1 in the US. It was also the first Bee Gees album to make the UK top 40 in ten years (not counting the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever), as well as being their first and only UK no.1 album. Living Eyes is the Bee Gees' sixteenth original album, released in 1981. The Bee Gees began to break away from the disco sound that was prominent on their work in the mid-late 1970s with this album. However the album was not a commercial success, perhaps due to them being so strongly associated with disco. It sold 750,000 copies worldwide (compared to 16 million copies of their previous studio album "Spirits Having Flown" in 1979), and while it did not sell well in either the UK (#73) or the US (#41), it reached #6 in Norway and #4 in Spain. It would be the band's final album on RSO Records. The label would be absorbed into Polydor and susbsequently discontinued. Living Eyes, was the only Bee Gees album in their catalog not to be released on CD in the late 1980s, and ultimately became quite rare. 01- Living Eyes 02- He's A Liar 03- Paradise 04- Don't Fall In Love With Me 05- Soldiers 06- I Still Love You 07- Wildflower 08- Nothing Could Be Good 09- Crying Every Day 10- Be Who You Are LINK

Size Isn't Everything is the Bee Gees' twentieth studio album. It was released in the UK on September 13, 1993, and in the United States on November 2, 1993.This album marked Bee Gees' return to Polydor Records after their 3-album contract with Warner Bros. Records. The album was recorded during a time of considerable strain for the Gibb brothers, with Maurice Gibb still struggling with alcoholism and Barry Gibb's wife and prematurely newborn daughter both in ill health. Barry himself was also scheduled to have back surgery. Then on March 5 1993, the brothers' father, Hugh Gibb, died. The date coincided with the birthday of their late brother Andy who had died in 1988. On August 9, 1993, the album's first single, Paying The Price Of Love, was released in the UK and peaked at #23. The album peaked at #33 in the UK in late September. It then disappeared from the charts, only to return in December 1993 when the album's second single, For Whom The Bell Tolls, became a UK Top 5 hit. The album then peaked at #23. Although short-lived, the Spencer Davis Group – particularly its incarnation with Steve Winwood – proved to be influential, with many of the band's songs covered by other artists over the years. Notable among these are Chicago's 1969 version of "I'm a Man"; The Allman Brothers Band's 1969 take of Davis' instrumental "Don't Want You No More"; Three Dog Night's 1970 recording of "Can't Get Enough of It"; and The Blues Brothers' 1980 recording of "Gimme Some Lovin". The Grateful Dead also covered Spencer Davis Group material in live performance on occasion, and Spencer Davis himself performed "I'm a Man" with the Grateful Dead at a 1989 performance at Los Angeles' Great Western Forum. Nucleus were a pioneering jazz-rock band from Britain who continued in different forms from 1969 to 1989. In their first year they won first prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival, released the album Elastic Rock, an essential creation in the crystallization of a new musical expression, Jazz fusion, and performed both at the Newport Jazz Festival and the Village Gate jazz club. They were led by Ian Carr, who had been in the Rendell-Carr Quintet during the mid and late 1960s, and was a respected figure in British jazz for more than 40 years. Their jazz-based music evolved from an early sound incorporating elements of progressive and psychedelic rock towards a funkier sound in the mid and late 1970s. Nucleus' first lineup was leader and trumpeter Ian Carr, keyboardist/oboist Karl Jenkins, saxophonist/flautist Brian Smith, guitarist Chris Spedding, bassist Jeff Clyne and drummer John Marshall. Robert Clarke Seger is an American rock musician and singer-songwriter. As a locally successful Detroit-area artist, he performed and recorded as The Bob Seger System throughout the 1960s. By the early 1970s, he had dropped the "System" from his recordings, and he continued to strive for national success with other various bands. In 1973 he put together "The Silver Bullet Band," an evolving group of Detroit-area musicians, with whom he became most successful. In 1976, he achieved national fame with two albums, the live record Live Bullet, and the studio record Night Moves. On his studio albums he also worked extensively with the Alabama-based Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, appearing on several of Seger's best selling singles and albums. The second single from The Bob Seger System was "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man". Predictably it was a smash in Michigan, but it also became Seger's first national hit, peaking at #17. The song's success led to the release of an album of the same title in 1969. Robert Gaston "Bobby" Fuller was an American rock singer, songwriter, and guitar player best known for his singles "I Fought the Law" and "Love's Made a Fool of You," recorded with his mid-1960s group, the Bobby Fuller Four. Fuller moved to Los Angeles in 1964 with his band The Bobby Fuller Four, and was signed to Mustang Records by producer Bob Keane, who was noted for discovering Ritchie Valens and producing many surf music groups. By this time, the group consisted of Fuller and his brother Randy on vocals/guitar and bass respectively, Jim Reese on guitar and DeWayne Quirico (later replaced by Dalton Powell) on drums. At a time when the British Invasion and folk rock were the dominant genres in rock, Fuller stuck to Buddy Holly's style of classic rock and roll with Tex Mex flourishes. His recordings, both covers and originals, also reveal the influences of Eddie Cochran, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and the Everly Brothers, as well as surf guitar. Less well known was Fuller's ability to emulate the reverb-laden surf guitar of Dick Dale and The Ventures. His first Top 40 hit was the self-penned "Let Her Dance". His second hit, "I Fought the Law", hit No. 8 on Billboard. The song was written by Sonny Curtis, a former member of Buddy Holly's group The Crickets, and recorded by the line-up of the Fuller brothers, James Reese on guitar, and Dalton Powell on drums. The group's third Top 40 single was a cover of Holly's "Love's Made a Fool of You." Just after "I Fought The Law" became a Top 10 hit, Fuller was found dead in an automobile parked outside his Hollywood apartment. 01 - Let Her Dance 02 - Julie 03 - A New Shade Of Blue 04 - Only When I Dream 05 - You Kiss Me 06 - Little Annie Lou 07 - I Fought The Law 08 - Another Sad And Lonely Night 09 - Saturday Night 10 - Take My Word 11 - Fool Of Love 12 - Never To Be Forgotten LINK
Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde is the seventh album by the American rock band The Byrds and was released in March 1969 on Columbia Records. The album saw the band juxtaposing simple country rock material with harder-edged psychedelia, giving the album a stylistic split-personality that was alluded to in its title. The album was the first to feature the new band line-up of Clarence White (guitar), Gene Parsons (drums), John York (bass), and founding member Roger McGuinn (guitar). Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde is unique within the band's discography for being the only album on which McGuinn sings the lead vocal on every track. Third Ear Band evolved within the London alternative and free-music scene of the mid 1960s. Members came from The Giant Sun Trolley and The People Band to create an improvised music drawing on Eastern raga forms, European folk, experimental and medieval influences. They recorded their first session in 1968 for Ron Geesin which was released under the pseudonym of The National-Balkan Ensemble on one side of a Standard Music Library disc. Their first actual album, Alchemy, was released on the EMI Harvest label in 1969, (featuring John Peel playing Jew's Harp on one track), followed by Air, Earth, Fire, Water (aka Elements) in 1970. They recorded two soundtracks, the first in 1970 for an animated film by Fuchs of Abelard and Heloise (which first saw release as part of Luca Ferrari's Necromancers of the Drifting West Sonic Book in 1997) and then in 1971 for Roman Polanski's film of Macbeth. After various later incarnations and albums they finally disbanded in 1993. They also opened The Rolling Stones Free Concert at Hyde Park on 5 July 1969. 01 - Overture 02 - The Beach 03 - Prisoner 04 - Inverness- Macbeth's Return-The Preparation-Fanfare-Duncan's Arrival 05 - The Banquet 06 - Dagger And Death 07 - At The Well 08 - Court Dance 09 - Groom's Dance 10 - Bear Baiting 11 - Ambush - Banquo's Ghost 12 - Going To Bed-Blind Man's Buff-Requiscant-Sere And Yellow Leaf 13 - The Cauldron 14 - Prophesies 15 - Wicca Way LINK
