Bee Gees' 1st is -- despite the title -- the third studio album by The Bee Gees. It was, however, their first album to be released internationally, as their first two LPs were only avaialble in Australia and New Zealand. Released in July 1967, Bee Gees' 1st was also the group's debut album for the UK Polydor label, and for the US Atco label. Reflecting the group's early style, Bee Gees' 1st was a psychedelic rock album. The album cover was designed by Klaus Voormann who had previously done the cover for Revolver by the Beatles. 01 - Turn Of The Century 02 - Holiday 03 - Red Chair, Fade Away 04 - One Minute Woman 05 - In My Own Time 06 - Every Christian Lion Hearted Man Will Show You 07 - Craise Finton Kirk Royal Academy Of Arts 08 - New York Mining Disaster 1941 09 - Cucumber Castle 10 - To Love Somebody 11 - I Close My Eyes 12 - I Can't See Nobody 13 - Please Read Me 14 - Close Another Door LINK

The Bee Gees Sing and Play 14 Barry Gibb Songs is the Bee Gees' debut LP (1967's Bee Gees' 1st was the international debut album), released under the artist title "Barry Gibb & the Bee Gee's". It was released in November 1965 on the Australian Leedon label. It is basically a compilation of most of the Gibb brothers' singles that had been released over the previous three years (only in Australia), which accounts for the many different styles of music on it. Earlier tracks like "Peace of Mind" "Claustrophobia", and "Could It Be" are in the Merseybeat vein that was popular throughout 1964, while later singles like "Follow the Wind" and "And the Children Laughing" reflect the more folky sounds of the summer of 1965. Of the three new tracks that were recorded specifically for the album, "To Be or Not To Be" was probably the biggest departure, being a blues-based hard rocker.

The trio were successful for most of their forty years of recording music, but they had two distinct periods of exceptional success: as a harmonic "soft rock" act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and as the foremost stars of the disco music era in the late 1970s.
