The album reached #139 on Billboard in 1969, the only Kaleidoscope album to chart. Aerosmith is an American hard rock band, sometimes referred to as "The Bad Boys from Boston" and "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band". Their style, which is rooted in blues-based hard rock, has come to also incorporate elements of pop, heavy metal, and rhythm and blues, and has inspired many subsequent rock artists. The band was formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970. Guitarist Joe Perry and bassist Tom Hamilton, originally in a band together called the Jam Band, met up with singer Steven Tyler, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitarist Ray Tabano, and formed Aerosmith. In 1971, Tabano was replaced by Brad Whitford, and the band began developing a following in Boston. Nine Lives is the 12th studio album by Aerosmith, released March 18, 1997. The album was produced by Aerosmith and Kevin Shirley, and was the band's first studio album released by Columbia Records since 1982's Rock in a Hard Place. It peaked at #1 at the Billboard Charts. One of the album's singles, "Pink", won a Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.

Alice in Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987 by guitarist Jerry Cantrell and original lead vocalist Layne Staley. Although widely associated with grunge music, the band's sound incorporates heavy metal and acoustic elements. Since its formation, Alice in Chains has released four studio albums, three EPs, two live albums, four compilations, and two DVDs. The band is known for its distinct vocal style which often included the harmonized vocals of Staley and Cantrell. Alice in Chains rose to international fame as part of the grunge movement of the early 1990s, along with other Seattle bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. The band was one of the most successful music acts of the 1990s, selling over 35 million albums worldwide, and over 15 million in the US alone. Alice in Chains is the eponymous third studio album by the band. Released on November 7, 1995, it was the follow-up to the highly successful Dirt. It marks the band's last studio album to feature vocalist Layne Staley, who would die of a drug overdose in 2002, and the last until Black Gives Way to Blue was released in 2009 featuring new vocalist William DuVall.

Frehley's Comet was an American rock band formed and led by ex-Kiss lead guitarist Ace Frehley. The group released two studio albums and one live EP before Ace Frehley left the band. Second Sighting is the second out of three LPs put out by Ace in the 80's, but it was the last under the band name Frehley's Comet. Second Sighting was recorded with new drummer Jamie Oldaker, who had previously worked with Bob Seger and Eric Clapton. He replaced Anton Fig, who would return for 1989's Trouble Walkin'. This makes Second Sighting the only Ace Frehley solo album or project (excluding compilations) to not feature Fig. "Dancin' With Danger" is a cover version of a song recorded by the Canadian band Streetheart. Although the songwriting credits list Frehley and Dana Strum, the music and lyrics are very similar to the original version. Alien Ant Farm is an American alternative rock band that formed in the southern California city of Riverside in 1995. Their name comes from an idea original guitarist Terry Corso had about aliens and the earth--"I was daydreaming at my dull desk job with my feet up, and I thought to myself, 'Wouldn't it be cool if the human species were placed on earth and cultivated by alien intelligence?' Maybe the aliens added us to an atmosphere that was suitable for us, and they've been watching us develop and colonize, kind of like what a kid does with an ant farm." The band has sold over 1 million units worldwide, and has 4 studio albums, and 8 music videos. Truant (stylized as truANT) is Alien Ant Farm's second album. It was released on August 8, 2003 by DreamWorks Records. The producers of the album were Stone Temple Pilots' guitarist and bassist Robert DeLeo and Dean DeLeo. The music video for track "These Days" was filmed on a roof top across the street from the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. The surprise video shoot was shot during the 2003 BET Awards while numerous hip hop artists and rappers were arriving on the red carpet before the awards show. The video catches the reaction from many artists, including Nelly, Snoop Dogg, and Lil Kim. The song "These Days" appeared on EA sports video game Madden NFL 2004. Also, the song "S.S. Recognize" was on NHL 2004. The album art is based on the classic Pee-Chee brand school folder, featuring the faces of the band members. Hot Rocks 1964–1971 is the first compilation album of Rolling Stones music released by former manager Allen Klein's ABKCO Records (who gained control of the band's Decca/London material in 1970) after the band's departure from Decca and Klein. Released in late 1971, it proved to be The Rolling Stones' biggest-selling release of their career and an enduring and popular retrospective. After reportedly having been duped by Klein to unknowingly sign over the recording copyrights to all of their material from 1963 to 1970, The Rolling Stones left Decca and formed their own label, Rolling Stones Records, with a new distributor. They recorded Sticky Fingers throughout 1970, releasing it the following spring. Although Klein—and now ABKCO—no longer had The Rolling Stones as clients, their fruitful catalogue was ripe for the picking and, thus, Hot Rocks 1964–1971 was quickly compiled as a double album greatest hits package. While the album carries most of the band's biggest hits during their first decade, it does drop a few of them in order to include standout tracks such as "Play With Fire", "Under My Thumb" and "Gimme Shelter" giving listeners a more well-rounded impression of The Rolling Stones' music in this era. Although "Brown Sugar" and "Wild Horses" are a part of Sticky Fingers, those two songs are co-owned by the band and Allen Klein because The Rolling Stones recorded the songs while they were still under contract to Decca.

On the 17th of October 2005 the first in a legendary series of podcasts compiled by DinsdaleP was broadcast. Every week or so , a new edition followed. They continued for 114 episodes until December the 11th 2007, an astonishing amount of material in such a short space of time and very hard work for the author who shared these with us. At the time they were unique in both their content and production...in fact they still are... and although many have tried to emulate them none have succeeded. Dinsdale has very kindly made the original lossless tapes available to Nowhere Man Records, who are privileged to present them in their entirety, along with one or two surprises. The Hollies are an English rock group, formed in Manchester in the early 1960s, though most of the band members are from throughout East Lancashire. Known for their distinctive vocal harmony style, they became one of the leading British groups of the era. They enjoyed considerable popularity in many countries, although they did not achieve major US chart success until 1966. Along with The Rolling Stones and The Searchers, they are one of the few British pop groups of the early 1960s that have never officially broken up and that continue to record and perform. The Hollies were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. Russian Roulette is a 1976 album by The Hollies. This album is the band's second release in 1976 (the other album being Write On ). This album is notable for being the first one to have been composed entirely by the group's songwriting team. This album was not issued in the U.S.

Guitar Boogie is a compilation blues album with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, with additional credit to The Allstars. Most songs on this album were written by Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck or Jimmy Page. Guitar Boogie was released as a part of a British Archives series and is rare in that form. The album was re-released in the US in 1977 by Pickwick Records. Only two of the guitarists appear on any given track. Jeff Beck does not appear on any of the Page/Clapton numbers. Similarly, Clapton doesn't appear on the Allstars tracks. Jeff Beck's two tracks were recorded in 1963 and can be found on several different compilations. This album was compiled by Richard Robinson.

The Animals were an English music group of the 1960s formed in Newcastle upon Tyne during the early part of the decade, and later relocated to London. Known for their gritty, bluesy sound and deep-voiced frontman Eric Burdon – as exemplified by their number one signature song "The House of the Rising Sun" as well as by hits such as "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" and "It's My Life" – the band balanced tough, rock-edged pop singles against rhythm and blues-oriented album material. Long Island guitarist Faine Jade began performing and recording as a member of the Rustics in the mid-'60s, with basic, energetic, angst-ridden material that differed little from literally thousands of other like-minded garage bands across the country. After a single with the Rustics in 1966, Jade recorded a 45 under his own name in 1967, "It Ain't True," which was rescued from obscurity on the Pebbles, Vol. 8 compilation. His solo LP on the tiny R.S.V.P. label in 1968, Introspection: A Faine Jade Recital, showed a quantum leap in songwriting with reflective, enigmatic lyrics and a swirling but disciplined melodicism. It has ranked among the most coveted collectibles of the psychedelic era. In late '67, Faine recorded demo versions of Cold Winter Sun and I Lived Tomorrow Yesterday, backed by the Bohemian Vendetta, which led to the deal with New York independent label for the Introspection album. The band also backed him on the album, along with Bruce Brandt and Randy Skrha (who filled in for Jeff Jade - who was in Vietnam at the time). Bruce also co-wrote two of the songs on the album. The recent CD reissue, includes a linking piano section Piano Interlude omitted by the record company at the time because of its uncommercial nature, as well as three album demos, and a nineties tribute to John Lennon. Where Introspection captures the arguably naive atmosphere of '67, and naked openness that the use of psychedelics represented, Vietnam polarised political opinion, which Faine articulated on a 1969 recording USA Now before moving to Florida and working with the pre-Allmans outfit Second Coming. Later he rejoined Nick Manzi and Bruce Brandt as Dust Bowl Clementine who released one album, Patchin' Up (Roulette 1970), and opened a studio in Long Island.

Gracious was a British progressive rock band which existed from 1967 to 1971, and released two albums, Gracious! (1970, Vertigo/Capitol) and This Is... (1972, Philips). The roots of the band lay in the long friendship between singer Paul 'Sandy' Davis and guitarist Alan Cowderoy, who met while at the same school in Esher, Surrey, between 1959 and 1965. It was a Catholic school, so when they decided to form a band together, they chose the most controversial name two twelve-year-old boys could come up with - Satan's Disciples! Inevitably, when performing at the school concerts, they had to change the name to The Disciples. Davis was the drummer and vocalist, and Cowderoy played lead; two other school friends played bass and rhythm. In 1968, Martin Kitcat and Mark Laird joined on Hohner electric piano and bass respectively. Davis was still drumming as well as singing, but Robert Lipson, who played in a rival Esher band, agreed to join, allowing Davis to take the front of stage for the first time. The band's early sound was influenced by Cream and the British blues movement, and one of their first professional recordings was a cover of a John Mayall song. At one point the group was rehearsing in a building below Eric Clapton's London flat, and one day Clapton popped in during a rehearsal and ended up jamming with them. More pivotal, however, was interest from Pete Townshend which led to a support slot for The Who on a tour in 1968.

A New York's east coast acid blues american band. Musically it's rather slow, pedestrian blues, rather than psychedelic. They do not appear to have released any 45s. Among the musicians included were Bobby Notkoff (also in Rockets and Crazy Horse) and Chris Osborne (who played with David Peel and Yoko Ono). Julian Jay Savarin is a British musician, songwriter, poet and science fiction author. Born in Dominica, Savarin moved to Great Britain with his family in 1962. He recorded a solo album, Waiters On The Dance (1971) and was the leader and main songwriter in A Time Before This (1970, but some sources claim 1969, 1971 and 1973), which was the only album recorded by his group, Julian's Treatment. Julian's Treatment is yet another forgotten and obscure gem of progressive and psychedelic rock. A Time Before This, released in 1970, was the one and only album by this band. Unsurprising, the album is a sci-fi concept album. Musically, it's late '60s sounding psychedelic with progressive rock with great spacy organ and a cosmic feel to the whole album. Great female vocals as well with the occasional spoken dialog.
