Today! is the eighth studio album by The Beach Boys, and their first of three in 1965. Although few realized the significance of the album at the time, Today! marked a major turning point inside the band's world, and in particular, leader Brian Wilson's personal life. After Pet Sounds, the album is arguably the most acclaimed album of the Beach Boys' career. The album includes the original version of the classic hit, "Help Me, Rhonda". In 1965, Today! hit #4 in the US during a chart stay of 50 weeks. It reached #6 in the UK in the summer of 1966. 01 - Do You Wanna Dance 02 - Good To My Baby 03 - Don't Hurt My Little Sister 04 - When I Grow Up (To Be A Man) 05 - Help Me, Rhonda 06 - Dance, Dance, Dance 07 - Please Let Me Wonder 08 - I'm So Young 09 - Kiss Me, Baby 10 - She Knows Me Too Well 11 - In The Back Of My Mind 12 - Bull Session With 'Big Daddy' LINK
Adam Blessing [Bill Constable] (lead vocals), Bob Kalamasz (lead guitar, backing vocals), Jim Quinn (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Ray Benick (bass guitar), Bill Schwark (drums), Kenny Constable (lead vocals, backing vocals). Formed in Cleveland, OH. Glory is their final album, recorded in 1973. The Damnation Of Adam Blessing - Glory released their final album in 1973, but not under the same name. There were some changes in the group’s direction prior to the release of this album. After being dropped by United Artist, the group broke up and then resurfaced as Glory. Ironically the label Avalanche released the album - they were a subsidiary of UA. Adam Blessing reverted back to his given name Bill Constable, and brother Ken also joined the group on vocals and guitar. Ken had a higher voice than Bill, so this made for a splendid give and take between the two brothers, and some soaring sweet harmonies were the product of that sibling vocal tandem. 01 - Sunny Days 02 - Find Out Lover 03 - I Got A Feeling 04 - Mrs. Walker 05 - You Can Believe 06 - Hot Momma 07 - Get Up 08 - Nightmare 09 - Dawn LINK
The Move, from Birmingham, England, were one of the leading British rock bands of the 1960s. They scored nine Top 20 UK singles in five years, but were among the most popular British bands not to find any success in the United States. Looking On is the third album by The Move, released in the UK in December 1970. The LP is their first to feature Jeff Lynne, their first containing entirely original compositions, and the first on the Fly label, its catalogue number being FLY 1. It includes both their 1970 singles, the Top 10 hit "Brontosaurus," released on Regal Zonophone in March, and the less successful "When Alice Comes Back To The Farm," released on Fly in October. Looking On is generally regarded as the hardest rocking, least popular and most eclectic album in the Move's catalogue, as it presents the band dabbling in heavy metal ("Brontosaurus,") blues, ("When Alice Comes Back to the Farm"), ("Turkish Tram Conductor Blues"), prog-style epics ("Open Up Said the World at the Door"), soul ("Feel Too Good"), or, in the case of the title track, all four styles mashed together. 01 - Looking On 02 - Turkish Tram Conductor Blues 03 - What 04 - When Alice Comes Back To The Farm 05 - Open Up Said The World At The Door 06 - Brontosaurus 07 - Blackberry Way 08 - Something 09 - Curly 10 - This Time Tomorrow 11 - Lightning Never Strikes Twice LINK
The Flock was a Chicago-based jazz-rock band that released two records on Columbia records in 1969 (The Flock) and 1970 (Dinosaur Swamps). The Flock did not achieve the commercial success of other Columbia jazz-rock groups of the era such as Chicago and Blood Sweat & Tears, but were most notable for their inclusion of a prominent violin in their recordings. The violinist, Jerry Goodman, went on to become a member of Mahavishnu Orchestra and a solo artist. The members at the time of their 1969 studio recording were Fred Glickstein (guitar, lead vocals), Jerry Goodman (violin), Jerry Smith (bass), Ron Karpman (drums), Rick Canoff (saxophone), Tom Webb (saxophone) and Frank Posa (trumpet). The Flock, from 1969, is the self-titled debut album by The Flock. 01 - Introduction 02 - Clown 03 - I Am The Tall Tree 04 - Tired Of Waiting 05 - Store Bought - Store Thought 06 - Truth LINK

This collection of US Garage Psychedelia, originally appeared in 1968. Though the band was marketed as being from Australia, they were in fact New Yorkers, whose short, sharp songs, snarling guitar and aggressive rhythms anticipate the Punk music with wich the city would become so associated a few years later. Elsewhere on the album are some decididely psychedelic flourishes, making it a must-have for all fans of psych-punk.(From back cover) 01 - Don`t You Know What I Mean 02 - Look At The Way She Comes 03 - Poor Discarded Baby 04 - Nothing's Changed 05 - She's A Lady 06 - Colours Of Our Rainbow 07 - Poppa Duke Tyler 08 - Strange Feelings 09 - Elizabeth 10 - You Say 11 - Yesterday's Rain 12 - Lady Dressed In White 13 - Scaltered Children's Toys LINK

Soft and delicate, yet melodic, confident and self-assured, this Deram act's only album resides somewhere between period UK country rock (Cochise, Quicksand, Southern Comfort, Quiver) and singer-songwriterdom (Mike Maran, Pete Atkin, Tony Hazzard) with plenty of light and shade thrown in from both sides. Featuring crème de la crème of Britain's studio scene and aided by a sympathetic and lush production, this band manages to produce twelve superbly orchestrated tracks full of energy, effervescence, vigour, character, rich flavour and originality. It also features no less than three lead vocalists and - count them! - five guitarists, including none other than Southern Comfort's Gordon Huntley. Was Eric Bell the same guy who played in Thin Lizzy, on Mk I line-up's biggest hits, "Whiskey In The Jar" and "The Rocker"? Clem Cattini is featured in our other PICKs: Hungry Wolf, Ugly Custard, John Schroeder and Fancy. Jimmy Hastings, of course, needs no introduction, being a long-standing member of Canterbury prog legend Caravan. Eric Bell (guitar), Tony Carr (percussion), Clem Cattini Ork (drums), John Chuter (vocals, guitar, bass), Ant Grouth-Smith (guitar, bass, sax, vocals), Jimmy Hastings (flute), George Howe (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Gordon Huntley (steel guitar), Barry Morgan (drums), Douglas Wright (drums). The Clark Hutchinson Band was led by guitarist Mick Hutchinson and keyboardist Andy Clark. Hutchinson began playing with a band called Sons of Fred and then passed to Sam Gopal's Dream, a group in which had much influence on the music of India. There he met Andy Clark, bassist Pete Sears and drummer Franco Franco and settle for Clark Hutchinson. In 1968 the band recorded an album of blues, in line with what happened at that time in England, a sound like Fleetwood Mac, Chicken Shack and The Groundhogs, groups that were exploring other sounds to escape the limitations of traditional blues. Then began his flirtation with progressive rock until its demise in the mid 70's. 01 - Free To Be Stoned 02 - After Hours 03 - In Another Day 04 - Best Suit 05 - Death, The Lover LINK
This was recorded in 1967, but never released. Introspective US garage/psych band from Virginia influenced by the British Sound, soul and R&B. After they recorded their "Leave or Stay" 45 for the Gama label under the name The English Muffins, 32 years later this LP finally sees the light of day via this lovely reissue LP limited to 400 copies and in an old style thick jacket done to look just like the Lp would have looked on the Justice label had it come out way back when. 6 covers include Kinks, Yardbirds and the 5 originals all have an early Stones vibe. Strawbs (or The Strawbs) are an English rock band founded in 1964. Although the band started out as a bluegrass group they eventually moved on to other styles such as folk rock, glam rock and progressive rock. They are best known for their hit Part of the Union, which reached number two in the UK charts in February 1973, and for touring with Supertramp in their Crime of the Century Tour, doing their Hero and Heroine Tour, which drew musical similarities and themes. Just A Collection Of Antiques And Curios is a live album by Strawbs recorded at the Queen Elizabeth Hall London on July 11, 1970. The album reached number 27 in the UK Album Charts. The band line-up had changed dramatically from that of the previous album, Dragonfly. Only founder-members Dave Cousins and Tony Hooper remained, double bass player Ron Chesterman and cellist Claire Deniz being replaced by rhythm section John Ford and Richard Hudson. Rick Wakeman also became a full-time member. Thus the band changed from being a folk quartet to a rock quintet. The concert was instrumental in bringing Rick Wakeman's virtuosity to the attention of the music media, who prophesied super-stardom for the keyboard player. 01 - Martin Luther King's Dream 02 - The Antique Suite 03 - Temperament Of Mind 04 - Fingertips 05 - Song Of A Sad Little Girl 06 - Where Is This Dream Of Your Youth 07 - The Vision Of The Lady Of The Lake 08 - We'll Meet Again Sometime 09 - Forever LINK

The Moody Blues are an English rock band. Among their innovations was a fusion with classical music, most notably in their 1967 album Days of Future Passed. The Moody Blues have sold in excess of 70 million albums worldwide and have been awarded 14 platinum and gold discs. As of 2011 they remain active with one member from the original band from 1964 and two more from the 1967 lineup. This Is The Moody Blues is a two LP (later two CDs) compilation album, released in late 1974 while the band was on a self-imposed sabbatical. Though all of the songs were previously released on albums (with the exception of "A Simple Game" which was a 1968 B-side), several of them are heard here in distinctly different mixes.
